LED Lights for Gaming Room
There are many different ways to get awesome lighting in your gaming room. We will cover what items you should get and how you can impliment them so they look slick and clean! Then we will let you know what way we prefer to light our gaming room so you can make your choice.
1. LED RGB Light Bulbs
This is a quick way you can get RGB coloring in the room. The light bulbs will fit in standard A19 bulb sockets which is the most common sockets in the building. There are tons of different kinds of light bulbs that range in quality and price. This is where you gauge how much you want to spend versus quality.
Philips Hue Light Bulbs
The Philip Hue light bulbs are one of the best but most expensive option here. They are amazing because of the customization options you have right from your phone. The Android and iPhone app work great and lets you change it from anywhere. Plus in this pack, you get the base along with it. Since these go right into your sockets you just need to place them into your overhead. Unless you have a light stand it could just add accent lighting to the room. Another
LIFX Wi-Fi LED Light Bulb
The LIFX LED light bulb system is a great alternative to the Philips Hue when you need to outfit more than just 2 sockets. With the LIFX system, you won’t need a hub unlike the Philips Hue since it connects to the app through your Wi-FI network. It is also able to be controlled with your voice through Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa.
Cheaper LED Light Bulb Alternatives
There are many different cheaper options out there for LED lights for gaming room. You never want to go to cheap so the Sengaled Smart LED Light Bulbs are the cheapest option out of these three. It still offers RGB light and controls with Google Assistant or Amazon Alexa. Comes with a hub so you will need that to get it working but it is set at a great price compared to the other two. Especially when you want to expand your RGB LED lights to the rest of your home.
2. RGB LED Light Strips
Using RGB LED lights strips is great for gaming rooms! You can use them to add accent light behind monitors, TVs, and shelving. If you have crown molding you could even run the light strips hidden on top of the crown molding. This adds a glowing effect to the ceiling of the room that looks awesome as you can see in the photo above!
Philips Hue Light Strips
If you are going with the Philips Hue light bulbs then it is worth it to stay in the ecosystem. These are some great light strips you can cut to size and run anywhere you need them to go. Works the same as the light bulbs where you can control it from your phone on the App. Or with your Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. This one that we are linking to is 80 inches and for some that may be too short. They do have extension/add-on kits to make it longer by another 40 inches.
Other Cheap Alternatives
There aren’t that many well-known alternatives so if you want something cheaper it will be not well-known brand. Most of them don’t come with to many features but this one has a special one.
This LED light strip is made by Nexlux. The reason this is my choice for the cheaper alternative to the Philip Hue is you can control it with your smartphone or remote. This one is more so for when you aren’t going to be changing the color of it very much. The app isn’t the most visually appealing app out there but it does its job plus if your phone is dead you always have the remote (that is if you don’t lose it). Plus you can still control the lights with Google Assistant and Amazon Alexa. It’s also nice that if you just want the these LED light strips you don’t need a hub since it connects through your Wi-Fi network.
